Express Entry is the system through which candidates who qualify under the Skilled Worker Program, Skilled Trades Program, Canadian Experience Class and some Provincial Nomination categories are selected, and their applications are processed.
The score is assigned according to age, level of education, proficiency in the official languages of Canada and work experience in Canada and abroad. Some factors give additional points, such as having siblings who are residents or Canadian citizens, having a job offer endorsed by the Department of Employment and Social Development (ESDC), mastering both languages, having studied in Canada, or having the support of a province through a Provincial Nomination.
